Meta-Modelling as a Concept: The Conceptualisation of Modelling Methods

Intended Outline

  1. Generic overview about existing approaches for conceptualizing modelling methods.
  2. Model Value: "Model Value": is introduced as an equally important application scenario of concept model than software generation is, hence an exemplary case from industry is shown demonstrating model value.
  3. Implementation of Model Structures, Mechanisms and Algorithms on ADOxx: the hands-on part introducing how model structures are built, defined and structured using a predefined meta-model with operational semantic. Furthermore the processing part of DSLs is worked upon.
  4. Meta-Model Service Concept: triggers the discussion on service in context of meta-modelling platforms. This includes not only mechanism and algorithms, but enables functionality in a wider context needed by method engineers and developers. The OMiLAB (www.omilab.org) concept, as a virtual and physical experimental space for modelling method engineering, is introduced.
